Assessing learning: diagnostic assessment and outcome analysis tools


The assessment theme is capable of generating a reflection on complexity starting from the educational-curricular dimension. Over the years, the evaluation approach has expanded and modified its role, so that from the mere formulation of a judgment on learning, it has gradually arrived at the formulation of different levels and specific functions, generating a split into several parts of the same. evaluation: initial or diagnostic, ongoing or formative, final or summative. Starting from similar considerations, in this essay we intend to carry out an examination of the functions of the evaluation activity, with particular regard to structured objective tests, aimed at diagnostic assessment, proposing methods of structuring the tests and analyzing the results.
