Autobiographical methods for reflective and transversal skills training


The fragility of human existence, highlighted by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, involved different areas of life on an individual and social level. Significance of the other/s has placed the whole world faced with the new ways of future planning, including education. From a pedagogical point of view, it is crucial to spread training methods that emphasise cooperation, dialogue and sustainable, intercultural and interdisciplinary learning. Promoting a new social contract for education (UNESCO, 2021) is essential in order to increase critical thinking, civic involvement and greater awareness about our skills and our life project because they are fundamental for individual and community well-being, The article reports some significant data obtained from a research project carried out using autobiographical methods as a pedagogical strategy aimed at implementing reflective and transversal skills in the perspective of lifelong learning and of a sustainable society.
