Between presence lessons and E-learning platforms: reflecting on the role of technologies in Italian universities


Abstract:

The article aims to explore the role of technology in the tertiary education sector in Italy, focusing on the dynamics between the traditional physical presence of university students and the increasingly extensive use of E-Learning platforms, a trend that has grown especially after the pandemic period. Through a review of national and international literature, the objective is to understand how these two modes of learning integrate and mutually influence each other in the Italian academic context. The advantages and challenges related to the adoption of E-Learning technologies will be discussed, exploring their impact on teaching quality, student experience, and the structure of institutions. The article proposes a contribution that encourages reflection on the importance of maintaining physical presence in university classrooms, while also emphasizing the proper use of technological implementations utilized during the lockdown period.
