Experimenting visual methods in multicultural universities. A process evaluation

Abstract

The contribution reported here aims to describe photovoice experimentation as an image-based didactic experience carried out in higher education. The multicultural change that characterizes the academic context, in which this pedagogical experience has been realized, is a challenge for professors, who are called to understand how to encourage learning processes that enhance the social capital of university classes. This methodology seems to be able to respond to emerging challenges as it allows to actively discuss the way learners reflect on significant problems and concepts that affect everyday life, through the use of iconic material. The results of this experimentation are evaluated in terms of process and result, even academic, achieved in the classes and beyond it.
