From early school leavers to NEETs: a review of contrast policies in Campania

Abstract:

Low education and dropout rates are closely related to the phenomenon of NEETs, young people aged between 15 and 29 who are neither in employment, education, nor training. High is the rate of young people who leave the education and training system prematurely (the so-called early school leavers) after achieving at most a lower secondary school diploma. The early exit from the education and training system further exacerbates the issue of educational inequalities. Building on these premises, the work, an integral part of the PRIN 2022 project Evidence 4 Preventing Early school Dropout (E4PED), intends to present a literature review on the main political guidelines aimed at combating school dropout and the NEET condition, with particular attention to the Campania region.
