From transformational leadership to organizational effectiveness to act on the culture of security


Abstract

Leaders who choose the style of transformational leadership act on group members by changing their values, needs and beliefs through consensus and participation in achieving goals. In managing occupational health and safety, transformational leaders can be of fundamental importance as they can: provide examples of good practice through their conduct, ensure that occupational health and safety remain key issues during the course of their activities work, stimulate effective communication, provide workers with the tools to take preventive actions and appropriate behavior, provide the necessary training on safety and personal protection devices, involve workers in decisions concerning safety at work.
