Abstract
Today, digital tools are an integral part of our social fabric, and this leads us to reflect on two interrelated aspects: transformation and awareness. By transformation, we are referring to those spaces where social interaction takes place, and which, thanks to the continual growth of internet connections, the increase in the use of social networking sites and the proliferation of mobile technologies, has begun to highlight new forms of identity with undefined, often featureless outlines and narcissistic forms of communication. In fact, young people spend most of their time on the Web, in an experiential maze with great appeal, but which is actually ephemeral, artificial and adulterated. This is where the concept of awareness comes into play, along with mediacognitive education, that is, the need to develop in the younger generations, the ability to understand the real potential of technoligical devices.
