Tackling the learning loss for a fair and inclusive school

Abstract

The strong limitations to teaching due to the COVID-19 pandemic raise fears that in the school there may be a loss of learning in all school grades. The learning loss, which occurs in periods of prolonged interruption from lessons, cannot currently be calculated exactly. The lack of INVALSI data for the school year in fact, for now, 2019-2020 deprives us of the possibility of measuring the extent of this loss, which in the absence of counter actions by the school would risk making more serious situations of educational poverty already present in our country.
