The digital competence of teachers of the 21st century


Abstract

Through a general introduction on the experiences of DaD (Distance Learning) and DDI (Integrated Digital Education), which involved all schools of all levels and also saw the most reluctant teachers approaching digital to the DigCompEdu European framework to understand how teachers of the 21st century can approach digital and develop ever higher levels of competence. To help teachers understand their starting level in the use of digital technologies in teaching, the European Commission has proposed some European countries, including Italy, to experiment a tool: SELFIE for Teachers. The tool aims to help teachers reflect critically on the use of digital technologies within their profession and, based on the results, design personalized learning paths to further develop their digital skills.
