The languages of virtualescent generation: violent videogames, aggressive- bullying behaviours and peer-deviant group aggregation


Abstract:

The research seeks to explore the relationship between violent videogames, aggressive- bullying behaviours and peer-deviant group aggregation in male pupils in secondary school students (first and second grade) (13/19 year old boys). The examined sample is composed of 532 pupils attending suththern Italy middle schools.The utilized tools are: Physical and verbal aggressiveness scale (Caprara & Pastorelli,1993) to measure the inclination to aggressiveness in interpersonal contexts; Peer-deviant group aggregation scale (Capaldi e Patterson, 1992) in order to measure the features of the peers hanging out with the boy; VG “FAM2014” Questionnaire to measure the grade of familiarity with videogames. The results are different considering the age and the size.
