The relevance of the theory-practice nexus in the educational processes of Danilo Dolci

Abstract:

This year marks the centenary of the birth of Danilo Dolci, a prominent figure who offers a significant contribution to post-war Italian culture. Distinguishing himself as a critical thinker who characterizes education from a particular emancipatory perspective, Danilo Dolci's educational commitment takes on an extraordinary civil and political connotation. His critical approach aimed at uplifting the populations of the South gives Dolci great ability to grasp and realize the theory-practice nexus of education. Dolci's lesson allows us today to return to the epistemology of action research to relaunch such a significant transformative proposal of education and pedagogy itself. Dolci may be regarded as a possible reference over time of the tecnological dominance and post global societis.
