TikTok for effective and efficient university learning


The use of educational technologies allows on the one hand a greater personalization of learning and on the other hand offers a diversification of the contents to be presented. The literature has highlighted the value of the use of storytelling in the context of educational communication and thus this study aims at evaluating to what extend the content creation on TikTok can represent an innovative learning methodology. The research involves 350 first-year students of the Primary Education Master’s Degree Course of the University of Palermo during the academic year 2022/2023 and it considers the design and experimentation of educational interventions through the use of TikTok, the most commonly used videomaking and videosharing platform of recent times.
